The movie that this really reminds me of, and this was referenced quite a bit by reviewers at the time, critics, even critics who didn't like it, is Shortcuts and other films by Robert Altman. And so I feel like whatever that is does continue throughout the movie, but it's not something that is overtly cohesive. There are a lot of like aesthetic layers happening.
