Eliminating the LDO, I think in some cases that's totally warranted. It really depends on how much noise reduction you need. A low noise LDO can be anywhere from 20 microvolt RMS to 100 kilohertz. However, if you have a low noise switcher and you still need that super low noise, you could have thatLow Noise LDO follow the switcher. So you're saving your power loss that way.
