Quagmirekian's Life and Work
Quagmirekian finished high school with honors at 17 and entered the University of Michigan's medical program after busting his ass to catch up. In 1960 Gevin became qualified as a specialist, accruing more than 30 published papers on death and dying. His research may sound intrusive and dark but it was important in the area of transplant surgery. He proposed that death row inmates be used for painless medical experiments leading up to and ending in the prisoner's death. Jack had been inspired by reading of the Greeks having used Egyptian criminals for such tests.
