Mary Renolt: The Woman Behind the Pseudonym
Mary Renow, or Renolt, was a pseudonym used by writer Mary Renault. She adopted the pseudonym when she started publishing novels in the late 1930s as a nurse. Her first books were published six years before writing her classical novels at 51. Ryan: "All the relationships and all the novels are sort of slightly non heteronormative"
