Machiavelli's Swerve of Atoms
Luxembourg: Machiavelli liked the observation that the gods are not moved by anger and pity. And he also makes a note of this idea that oulogytofcn ar men, the swerve of atoms. This is important because it suggests that even in a world of turbulence, where fortune, nature and god lead to all these kinds of strange, unfelictable twists, there is still room for human free will. I'm surea whether we can describe machiavelli as a lucretian political philosopher is, i think, an open question.
