A Symphony Without a Theme
berlios had never tried to tell a story from start to finish before. No symphony had utilized so many off stage effects, so much percussion instruments like cornets and tubas. Of 26 years old when he wrote this wild symphony, felt it necessary to hold the audience's hand during the piece. And to this day, i always insist that this programme is given to the audience when i conduct the symphony.
