The Role of Assets in Model Building
Aspect's style is idiosyncratic, many managers will have a different approach from ours. But I start from the very high level premise that all assets have an equal opportunity to manifest trends. The whole model building process is an attempt to preserve that opportunity and make it as broad and robust as possible. All you can say about hogs and bonds is that they have the potential to demonstrate trends. So you could build into your model certain biases or certain scenario expectations. And that's what we try and issue. We try and avoid those built in biases.
