"We were very conscious of what we were doing to the earth's atmosphere, and that we were inadvertently altering the climate of this planet," he says. "If we hadn't been tumping all this carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, the scientific forecast for the planet was great climate for the next 50 thousand years."
