The Hypocrisy of EU Law on Data Privacy Issues

Stuart: There is a dichotomy that exists between the European Court of Justice's view on data privacy issues and whether or not the US system is adequate. We do have a very similar situation in the EU treaties that the EU member states when they signed the treaties to join the EU, exempt what they call national security from EU law. For example, criminal situations like as I mentioned before, data retention is under EU law. It's really about the statehood and kind of the statehood being imploding.
