After becoming prime minister in the first week of july 19 17, kerensky let all the power he now wielded go straight to his head almost immediately. Korensky ordered them to vacate the toried palace and find a new home. The order itself was a clear signal kerensky was going to try to alpadog the soviet into a place of submissiveness. Kerensky needed a military figure who was popular with the troops, popular with the public generally, but also willing to do what might be necessary to impose order on a now perpetually chaotic home front.
