I wanted to ask you about Middle March. Virginia Wolf famously says it's like the first novel, the best novel, her favorite novel. That means a lot to me because my feminism is very inflected by Wolf. The novel just fascinated me because it was so, um, I guess human. And then how those things open up onto feminism and what role feminism played in the method of assembling human smoke. If it did play a role, or do you see it as a feminist project or a feminist project? Well, it's the, I just remember reading Middle March in, um,. I guess I first read it in college.
