The Importance of Silence in Conflict
The abbot and his monks and nuns who'd walked miles to come walked right in between the lines of the military and the nuns. They turned held their bowls and just stood there and did standing meditation for two or three hours. The symbol of the robes that the military began to relax and realized maybe what they're doing wasn't exactly the optimal approach to life. From the after that day there began to be the kind of dialogue that is inevitable and necessary in conflict where people somehow find a way, says Bobby Kennedy.
