The Subsidiarity of Human Frustration
Human flourishing works best in the context of an ordered freedom. Government is best when it's devolved towards downward towards people who have a stake in it, he says. There are no such things as a homogenous nation - all nations are made up of tribes and sectors that have different interests or ways of looking at things. A strong central government needs to be able to defend your independence against threats from other countries and especially from ambitious empires.
