The Presumption That Surrogacy Doesn't Have Emotions
I find the idea of having an industry being basically endorsed by the government really troubles me. Most European countries, and particularly Western European countries are nowhere near as liberal on surrogacy as we are. I am completely against any sort of moves towards a US model. For us as surrogates, we feel very protected by all of the reforms that have been put into place. And in the UK, the legal reforms strongly protect a surrogate's body autonomy which again is something that the surrogates campaigned for.
