The Disadvantages of Affirmative Action
The debate over affirmative action is how readily it brings out the tendency in people to read bad faith in opinions that make them uncomfortable. I noticed starting 20 years ago, you would argue against excessive racial preferences and there would always be people in the audience who assumed that you were OK with legacy admissions. So yes, I'm glad that you have that to cover you so that that nonsense can't get in the way of reason, at least not as much as it used to. It was students for fair admissions who brought out all this stuff about the legacies and athletes.
