The legend of old stinker the werewolf ran over for the better part of a thousand years and i say it's intriguing because werewolves aren't a natural feature of English folklore. The wolf was known as oh stinker because it had a putrid breath because it ate carrion as wolves do and it had bright red eyes and it walked on its hind legs with a powerful tail that could knock people over. It sort of faded away in historical terms but there were reports of people being in carriages being attacked by wolves in the sort of 18th century.
