The Problem With Pursuing Philosophy

A traditional Jewish scholar has to devote himself entirely to Talmud study. The fundamental problem is to engage with any thought that comes from outside the Bible and its derivatives, he says. Then in addition on top of it you have even harmful doctrines like the eternity of the world, all the absence of individual providence. That means not only it's not needed but it's even forbidden to study anything that is not ultimately a world of God.
