Under current law in california, the minimum wage will rise to 15 dollars and 50 cents in 20 23. By 20 25, under existing california law, it will rise again to 16 dollars and50 cents. Current calculations as to what a family needs, two adults and one child, ifthere's a single wage earner, needs to get forty dollars an hour for basic decent living. If you have two Adults and One Child, but two wage earners, they would have to get at least 24 dollars per hour. Even california, with among the most progressive approaches to minimum wages, doesn't come close in the united states to providing a decent minimum to its families
