Amazon wouldn't give us access to the data centre but Eddie did take me on a tour of a small green cube shaped building next door which is where his magic happens. This is where all the hot water from the data centre is collected and then treated. To do this they fit a system to the server centre that converts all that hot air into hot water. The hot air is collected at the end of the corridors and then it's run through water and it's so hot when it goes into the water it raises the temperature of the water in air handling units by between 23 and 25 degrees.
