The Importance of a Hindu Funeral
A Hindu funeral takes place almost immediately after death by dusk or dawn, whichever comes first. Bodies were burned on a pyre at a sacred site with things they may need to meet the gods. Many ancient spiritual beliefs in Eastern Asia centered upon ancestors. It was believed that the spirits of the deceased still had influence over the events in the world.
