The Significance of a Big Other That Lacks

The person whom you perhaps thought had all the answers turns out to be just a normal person like you. This would be the point at which my dad, to continue with the example, might stammer a little bit when I ask him a question about who knows what. That would be a signifier of the fact that he's about to make some shit up because he doesn't have an answer. Of course, we know that all big others lack for the reason I pointed out earlier regarding set theory.
