CHAPTER

The Legend of Menangi

Menangi is a half man, half fish creature that has lived for centuries in the waters of the river from which he gets his name. Reports became so frequent in the middle of the 20th century that police were said to have formed a task force specifically designed to document and investigate the stories. Back in 2010, swimmers gathered for a race in the river just south of Pittsburgh called it the Search for Menangi. Some even blame Menangi on the disappearance of a World War II bomber in 1956, which crashed into the river there.
