When your partner or the person you're in a relationship with starts to feel negative emotions, they displace those emotions on you. So what you need to do is like step away from a sensory standpoint and say I just can't function in this kind of situation. If at some point you're able to participate in a conversation, great. I'm more than happy to have it. But don't see that that's I can't fix this without you. And then your piece out. You step away.
