Are Endometrial Biopsies a Good Idea?

When do we biopsy? When do we not? Strictly speaking, you'll hear people say that anybody in their forties with any abnormal uterine bleeding of any sort should have endometrial sampling. I think it's safe to continue on for a few months and see how the symptoms resolve before jumping straight to a biopsy. If one of the treatments potentially is progesterone, then in my mind we're covering our bases.
