Sleep and the Industrial Revolution

Doctor res says the people who ran asylums like the one jane was sent to were obsessed with their patient's sleep. Through the industrial revolution, industrialists and factory owners wanted to figure out how to control the sleep of workers. In 18 90, by some estimates, the average work week for manufacturing workers was 100 hours. Industrialists used the strategies of enslavers to make sure no one fell asleep on the job.
