The Effects of Race or Gender on the Victims
In 11 studies, we actually a counterbalanced or manipulated like the gender of the character in the story. And thereis not a meaningful difference in how big the effect is for the two genders. In one study, i's just one study, so we're sort of a little bit less confident that there's no difference in the effects ees. But we did find evidence that the effect holds both for male and for female, and for white and for black protagonists. It suggests that at least in the context of this story about theft, with sort of a sample collected on amazon mechanical turk, if listeners familiar with that m we didn't seem to find that the white versus black race
