The Power of Highly Functional Dialogue
James Cameron is masterful at this, where every single line of dialogue accomplishes multiple things. And obviously it's doing exposition really hard, but because of the context of the scene, it kind of works. It doesn't call too much attention to itself. Is it the most artful dialogue I've ever heard? Absolutely not. But it doesn't need to be.
