The Power of Hip Hop Filmmaking
I don't believe, especially with black music, there are new genres. It's a reflection of and reaction to the environment every single time. So hip hop has its time, but hip hop and jazz and blues, it's the same shit. And so having the privilege to make films about black artists from different generations, not many people have had that privilege. But I am doing hip hop in a way because it's all the same kind of conversation.
