The Importance of Sampling Sports

The 10,000 hour rule or the skilled sports may not be helpful for aspiring young athletes. The rationale is that if you can participate in a wide range of sports then you have more movement experiences. It's thought that these wide range of experiences, a heap of backyard games, actually improves decision making ability as well. But it's hard to not imagine that specializing early and dropping other sports could not improve performance in later years.
