I think con artists are the most American thing you can be. Like I love Elrond Hubbard. He stole his own baby and made himself a god, then had teenager search for gold in the ocean. Yes, he left an unthinkable amount of human shrapnel in his wake but he's so fun to read about. And the guy we're talking about today is a better person.
