I think it's okay to make identity based decisions if you're using the right identity. But I think a lot of times we use the wrong identity, like it's a limiting, unnecessarily limiting identity. So for a given example, so I want to make sure I'm what I'd think about is if I am experiencing weakness in some way, I wants to make sure there's some kind of mechanism that helps me to still make the right decision. A negotiator would start off by empathizing and understanding the other side, right? A negotiator would actually think about how we could potentially make this a win-win, figure your goals and move in that direction.
