Self Help Typewriting: Fiction Verse Non Fiction

Fiction, for me, always starts with a compelling idea. That's how i judge it. Every time i've tried to sort of project it into the market place, into the idea of no bisiness, commercial, i've always done. I'm definitly using every skill that i have, asking myself, how do i start this thing? How do i hook the reader? You know, slowly enough to keep the reader hooked, but fast enough that they know where the hell they are in the story?
