By the end of 1215 Magna Carta seemed a failure without a future. How does it survive at all? The answer to that is John's death because he left his nine-year-old son Henry III in an absolutely desperate situation. A new version of the chart is issued in November 1216 without some of its most objectionable clauses, no security clause anymore and no 25 barons. I think it did help win the war because there's a cycle of battle of Lincoln. What's so striking is that the barons on Louis' side don't fight very hard. They all get captured.
