The Kinetoscope Is Like a Magic Lantern
In 1891 Thomas Edison invented the phonograph, which was a device used for recording and reproducing sound. The kinetoscope enabled one person at a time to view a moving picture, which then could also have sound applied to it. Luke: "I just don't even know what I think might happen in 1891 is the Edison company successfully demonstrating a prototype of the kinetoscope" James: "Just imagine the possibilities. It's like a magic lantern."
