I actually think there's a direct line that can be drawn sonically from chairs missing to that big trio of Cure albums, 17 seconds face pornography. I'm a big wire person and they kind of maintained this approach of like songs that felt like and sounded like dreamscapes. There's these parallels like in 1988, wire came out with a bell as a cup. You know, so I wouldn't be surprised if if Robert Smith kind of charted the Cure's growth by listening to what wire was continually doing.
