Vitiligo: A Family History

Vitiligo can absolutely occur in isolation but we see it as one of the absolute patterned autoimmune conditions. There are a few polymorphisms there's one called NALP3 which is a gene we don't routinely test for but it's highly associated with vitiligo. Some subset of kids who develop vitiligo 18 months later they may show up in DKA or they might actually show up with the opposite where they're having more severe pigmentation because they're developing adicens.
