The Problems That China Has Has to Deal With

There are serious material capabilities that are still lacking and appear likely to be still lacking for at least a decade to come. China does not possess any aircraft carriers, for example. It also has territorial disputes with many of the neighbors that have caused increasing degrees of discomfort. But I think it is worth looking at history and looking at contemporary Chinese foreign policy to do our best to get a sense of Chinese intentions.
