The Longshoreman's Story
The film spans 25 years of il ww longshore history in san francisco and oakland from 19 69 to 19 four. First produced in 19 79, it was shown at poetry readings presented by the waterfront writers and artists. The three photographers decided to make a slide show with the sound track that they screened to close the readings. They were all members of il w, the powerful union thats ruled west coast dock work since 19 34.
