How Can You Really Have Free Speech?

It sas people don't want to be against what the standard view is. And i think that's what's interesting aso you know, you have avert government pressure, and then you have sort of this pressure from the mob - it drives incredible self censorship. How can you have any open market place of ideas? How can you really have free speech at all?
