There wasn't really a leader or kind of king or anything to rule the country. And what happened is that gradually tribes of people came over from places like Denmark and other places like that, formed sort of tribes. So we had a kind of French royal family for a long time in the UK, which kind of influenced our language and added a lot of French into it. And then later on the bloodline changed in various ways. We have this British royal family who were born here, but they do have connections to other countries.
