The Risks of Suspended Animation in Space Travel

The idea behind this is that it could help people who've been severely injured or had a stroke. There's already an ongoing trial in the US where bodies are cooled right down to 15 degrees Celsius, that's 60 Fahrenheit. And so if we could achieve a slower, more gradual fallen body temperature just by using ultrasound, that might be useful as well in some circumstances. But with space travel, there's an even bigger problem of our body getting zapped by radiation and killed stone dead long before we get anywhere.
