Continuous delivery and continuous deployment are often confused because they have the same acronym, right? They both both CD, but they are very distinct things in certain ways. To truly do continuous delivery as a minimum CD org explains, you need to have continuous integration which also in turn depends on trunk based development. And once that's done, we'll start doing actual Continuous Deployment (CDD) or build and then deploy into production.
