Napoleon's Relationship With Caroline Colambier
By 1796, Napoleon had proposed to as many as six different women. His type seems to have been slightly older and from rich or prominent families. He briefly became infatuated with an opera singer known as Madame de Santu Berty. It's possible he was just cynically trying to advance himself with a good marriage but I think this is reflective of his lofty ambitions in another way.
