We could use less phosphorus, for instance, by eating lower on the food chain. We could also just get better at extracting it from the eartha. And even if you had to do some very annoying way of getting phosphorus, like trying to pull it out of soil somewhere else, that would probably would still be worth the return to food grown. Even if phosphorus is ten times as expensive, hardly affects the price of food, right? I guess people grow food before phosphorus fertilizer rant cause this phosphorus in soil. It's just, it slows down the growth of the plants to not have added phosphorus. The cost of minerals has remained roughly constant over the past century because of technological progress. But
