Protein has been the most brilliantly marketed thing around. It's convinced people who are not active that they need to reach for a protein, you know, enriched food as a beverage when they're sitting on the couch and watching television. But i'm convinced that the more isn't better, and they can have adverse implications on health. And we completely overlook the more nutrient rich, complex carbohydrates that provide more fibre, vitamens, minerals, anti oxidents, nitric oxide, water - all these other things to optimize performance. We focus on an isolated nutrient that we often take an isolated form. And we miss out on all this other stuff, because we're filling up on calories that
