I was, I've always been a skeptic about inflation. It always looked to me too many, too many artificial ingredients in the models. But so what I did, I'm trying to be constructive is to develop alternative mechanisms which would explain structure in the universe. So I decided to devote more time than I should have to working out all of its predictions. And then the experiments came along and they proved me and the theory utterly wrong. That made me even more of a natural skeptic. A theorist job is really a provocateur.
