The Difference Between Self Government and Freedom
Bhut: I feel like that's such an interesting question, about the difference between self government or self determination and freedom. And i have a really ambivlant relationship to o this way of talking about things now. Because on the one hand there's like tons of political reaction and like, conservative ways of looking at things which has not relinquished the view of oppressed people as being passive or capable of self government. But i do think in later scholarship, it has become, like, the agency of the oppressed is, in it of itself, a mode of resistance.
