Mnemonics vs Analogies

Mnemonics and analogies are very similar in terms of their like low level functioning you're attaching something to something in your mind that is already very stable. The difference is that mnemonics the connection you're making is not as semantic so it's almost like the performance in an srs system between mnemonic and analogy items might be very similar. I feel like these analogies help internalize concepts in a way that you don't get if you're just working with the words in some way It's like the analogies gives you access to the idea underneathwhatever whatever the underlying idea is.
