The Met Police's Statement Responding to Your Investigation
The Met reports and police have put out a statement responding to your investigation. And they say that at multiple points, they referred Matthew White and his case and his potential involvement to the Crown Prosecution Service. So doesn't that suggest that the police did the right thing? Well, what the police have said in response, wrote to them a couple of weeks ago, spoke to them. They've issued a very unusual statement. They've actually named him in their statement, said he was a suspect. They've apologized for their handling of the case. But clearly there can be no prosecution now of Matthew White because he died two years ago.
