The Role of O2 Saturation in Serotic Patients

There's a triad that makes up the diagnostic criteria for HPS. It consists of hypoxemia, pulmonary vascular dilatation, and liver disease. The fact that our patient had those three is what made me arrive at this conclusion. Platypnea refers to the worsening of dyspnea when you sit upright and improves when lying flat. Orthodiaxia similarly refers to oxygen desaturation associated with those maneuvers.
